As “Boss Lady” and “Boss Man” of Insurgent Theatre, Tracy Doyle and Ben Turk are proudly non-mainstream. Tracy said, “We get so many people who’ve never been to a play or who say, I hate plays but I really love this!”.I love this portrait of Tracy and Ben. It is photographed at a small theatre called The Pharmacy, which is just that as well as a diner and theatre. The photo is using stage lighting, and the actual prop in their play “The Plight of the Ruling Class”, I always try to make a connection with the subject and their real environment - but then collaborate on concepts to make great pics, like this one.Its different, and totally represents who they are - fun actors, who take their work very seriously… As seriously as Davinci took his painting? Perhaps. In this photo we certainly think so.
